Our FREE stay at the Grand America Hotel

My boss had a conference for Regence Blue Cross this weekend, and he ended up not being able to use the free hotel room at the Grant America, so he gave it to me and Tyson! Yeah, it's a Five Diamond hotel here in Salt Lake and the room we stayed in is $300 a night!!! The 8oz. bottle of Coke in the fridge cost $3 - hey it comes in a glass bottle!! We took pictures of our room and view, since we will probably Never go there again - unless we get another free room!! Here's the link for a room like ours if anyone is interested - you know for all you big spenders out there;) http://grandamerica.com/prem_rooms_king.html ok - so it wasn't totally free - we paid $10 for parking - haha!!

Welcome to the Family Aubrynn Elizabeth Maxfield!!

No - we didn't have our baby ;) Tyson's sister Nikki had a little girl June 6th. She's SO cute!!! Congratulations to the Maxfield family!

Tyson's Birthday

So for Tyson's 25th birthday on June 3rd, we went to McGrath's Fish House to celebrate - YUM! If you're in the mood for good salmon - this is your place:) They even gave Tyson a free ice cream sundae. (you can also wear a huge fish hat, but Tyson refused!!)

My sister threw a party for us (my birthday is June 11th). She thought it would be funny to put those trick candles on our cakes - yeah the ones that keep sparking back up - anyway, the kids thought it was amazing - we really hope no one minded the spit on the cake from them! Thanks for the party Serena and thanks Heidi for making the yummy cakes (Tyson wants the recipe)!!

Happy 25th Birthday Tyson!!!

Happy Birthday Tyson!! I love you Baby:)

17 Weeks

Well - here I am at 17 weeks - yeah, I don't look very pregnant yet, people just may wonder why that woman won't at least try to hold her gut in!! I still feel GREAT! I actually feel pretty normal - I can feel something when I bend over, and I'm wondering if I've felt some movement ( I can't really tell) but it's still exciting:)

Hole in the Rock and Capitol Reef

To celebrate his graduation, Tyson wanted to do something outdoors, so we ended up going down to the Capitol Reef National Park area in southern Utah. It's around the Grand Staircase/Escalante National Park. We went with Tyson's sister Nikki and her family - it was So fun to get out of town again and just be outside in the beautiful weather!! We left Friday afternoon after graduation and stayed in a hotel in Torrey, UT. The next day went to Hole in the Rock - a crazy steep drop-off that the Mormon Pioneers lowered their wagons into to cross over into a valley - wich is now Lake Powell. Then we hiked through some slot canyons - sorry you had to sit in the truck the whole time Nikki - she's having a baby in June and there was NO way her cute belly would have fit through those things - I'm surprised I fit in some of it!! I was also kindly reminded that I really don't have as much energy as I did before now that I'm pregnant! Hey at least I have an excuse for feeling so out of shape:) The next day we drove through some awesome canyons in Capitol Reef and did a little hiking. I have to say - bumpy roads (or trails I guess) do not mix well with being pregnant!!! Sorry for all the pictures;)

Hole in the Rock
Brien, Ethan and Alex

Tyson tried and tried to catch one of these little buggers - they are SO fast!!

Hole in the Rock view of Lake Powell

I think Alex had a little too much fun:)

Hike to the slot canyons - we had to walk through a wash to get there and Tyson is showing how high the water had gotten - good thing it wasn't raining when we were there!
Entrance to the slot canyons
I can't even tell you how excited these two were for this hike! Ethan liked to call it the squishy canyons:)

This was by the first Very tight spot - it really made all of us think - am I????
So fun, but crazy - tight squeezes, interesting climbs, droppoffs and sand - Everywhere!
Tyson thought this cactus flower was so cool - it was only a little bigger than a quarter

How long to you think those pants will stay clean??

This little stream was coming right out of the hill!!
Alex and Ethan - just a little entertainment for our lunch break!
Yeah - good thing they had some extra clothes to change into:)

just a little nap
I think Alex got a little tired on this 2 mile hike - he practically ran the whole first mile!!!

Tyson's Graduation!! May 2, 2008

Tyson graduated from Weber State University in Construction Management May 2, 2008!!! He's so happy he's finally done - and so am I! He also scored in the nations top 95% on his AC Exam (Associated Contractors Exam) and was less than a point away from graduating cum laude - don't they round up for those things?? I'm so proud of you Tyson - I love you!!

Happy May Day - It's snowing - Again!

I just think it's funny how weird the weather has been lately! The other day it was in the 80's and I actually got a small sunburn - today it's snowing. Anyway, here's some pictures I took today.
