The ER and purple clothes

So last night around 7:30 Tyson was making dinner and all of a sudden the smell of the carrots he was making made me nauseous. I was like, "dang it, I hope I'm not getting the flu." Anyway, I was able to eat dinner, feed Brenna , put her to bed and then it started - the throwing up. Around 12:30 I was so cold and achy, I decided to get up and take a bath to warm up. I was in there about half an hour and when I stood up, it hit me - I was going to faint! Well, the next thing I remember I was waking up with a start and wondering why I was laying on the faucet - and WHY the heck was my whole body tingly? Tyson must have heard me fall because he was there all of a sudden and that's when I realized my whole body looked like I was having a seizure - you know how your foot looks like when you have a charlie horse? Yeah my whole body was doing that and I couldn't move my hands. It was so crazy - I felt it start in my feet and moved across my waist and into my mouth - my tongue was so tingly I could hardly talk. It was SO scary - I didn't know what to think - was I having a seizure or a stroke?? Tyson had to lift me out of the bathtub. He called my brother Jesse right away (he's a paramedic) and asked him to come over and watch Brenna because we needed to go to the hospital. After he got off the phone I was like - GET ME DRESSED!! So here I am all spazed out with Tyson trying to get me dressed and of course Jesse shows up and got to see me in my undies:) Oh well. Jesse checked me out as Tyson continued to get me ready to go to the ER. By the time we left the tingling was going away but my hands and feet were so tight I would hardly move them. So to make a long ER story short, they hooked me up to an IV, gave me some meds to calm me down, took blood tests, gave me oxygen and even took an EKG. Twice they asked me if I was pregnant - I was like I hope not!!! (I'm not). Tyson was so good to me - he held my hand and tried to keep me awake. He made jokes and did his best to help me feel comfortable. Then I waited forever! Tyson's parents came and Tyson and his dad gave me a blessing. Finally, the DR came back in and said nothing was wrong - I had hyperventilated. That's it???? Are you kidding me?? Whatever, by that time I was so tired and was feeling better I just wanted to get home. So they gave me a pill for nausea right before I left and told me not to nurse Brenna until 1:00 the next day. We finally got home and I went right to bed. Half an hour later I threw up - A LOT!! After that I felt totally fine - so much for the anti nausea pill! To bad I wasn't able to just throw up before all the drama and prevent all this from happening. Jesse and Tyson talked until about 4 and I dreamt all night that the Dr. told me the only thing we could do for me to feel better was to eat really mushy rice and to wear purple clothes every day - hmm. Today, I feel like I've been run over by a truck - my back and head are pretty bruised from when I fell in the tub. Tyson stayed home from work to help with Brenna. She wanted to nurse SO bad when she woke up. She hates eating from a bottle and it took us from 8:00 to 11:30 to get her to drink 4 oz. I felt so bad. Finally 1:00 rolled around and she got to nurse - she was in Heaven! Good thing she won't remember how mean her parents were this morning. All three of us have slept prety much all day - so nice! So I guess the good thing is I'm still alive! I don't want to that again.

FIVE Months!

Brenna turned 5 months old today! She's so sweet:) She loves smiling, anything that crinkles when you touch it, blowing bubbles, taking baths and sucking on all of her fingers or on her "fire" as her cousin Ethan H. calls it. She does not like her car seat and HATES tummy time and just figured out how to roll over to try to avoid having to do it. She also thinks it's funny when she coughs and she'll try to throw in some fake ones then laugh. She weighs a little over 12 pounds so she's still tiny for her age, but she's HUGE compared to what she used to be. The little purple flowered jumper she's wearing on the second picture (taken today) was the outfit we took her home from the hospital in - it was a dress that went almost down to her ankles - now it's used as a shirt!

Couple's Embrace

In 2007 I saw this picture online and have always been struck by it. I have thought of it often and can't seem to get it out of my head. This 5,000 year old skeletal couple was found in February 2007 near Mantua, Italy. I hope it doesn't sound to morbid, but I think it's so beautiful. This couple, obviously in love, was buried together and are still together cuddled in a sweet embrace. Elena Menotti, the archaeologist who led the dig said, "while we might never determine the exact nature of the pair's relationship, I have little doubt it was born of a deep sentiment." "It was a very emotional discovery," she said. "From thousands of years ago we feel the strength of this love. Yes, we must call it love." This couple has been together for thousands of years - I think it's even more beautiful that I get to be with Tyson FOREVER:) I love you!

Best Body Scub Ever!!

So I tried this homemade body scrub yesterday and it's AMAZING!!!

All you need is:

Honey
Salt
Lemon Juice

Mix enough honey and salt together to make a thick paste, add a splash of lemon juice. Mix together and go to town! Rub it all over your body and you can even use it on your face. Leave it on for a few minutes and rinse it off - seriously - try it you will be amazed!!!

Tyson and I have our pictures separate so I thought it would be fun to take a picture out of each one. The first one is from mine. It's my family's picture from March of 2006. It was just a few months before Tyson and I started dating. The second photo is from Tyson's folder called "me and the wife" :) It was taken a few minutes after we got engaged in June of 2006. Yikes - I forgot how fast our relationship went - at least we knew each other for over a year before we dated!!

Help! Does anyone know what this is??? I want it gone!!!

Hey - does anyone know what this is? It is a little thing that apeared yesterday only on our blog. It says Upgrade to Pro today! Bandwith Exceeded Photobucket. It goes over the posts on the blog and will stay there as you scroll down the page. The weird thing is you can't even click on it. Tyson does have a Photobucket account, but hasn't gone into it in forever and has never even gone into it on our computer. I want it gone - what do we do???

Four Months!

Brenna is four months old today! She now weighs 11lbs. 6oz. and is 22 3/4 inches long. Still tiny for her age, but she's huge compared to what she used to be! She has become quite the little bubble blower and she just laughed for the first time the other day and yesterday she reached out for a toy for the first time. Developmentally, she's a 3 month old (because she was six weeks early, they adjust her age to the time when she was due not when she was born) so she's doing great! Her Dr. thinks she may have a touch of acid reflux, so we just put her on Prevacid this week to see if it helps her with her spit up problem (more like throw up problem) -those little pills are not cheap! They are $50 for a twenty day supply!!! These things better work! They are strawberry flavored pills that dissolve in your mouth - Brenna thinks they're candy - boy does she get a kick out of her daily treat! And our favorite thing - she also sleeps through the night!!

This was Brenna this morning - so happy!


She's so funny - her new thing is smashing her face into your arm or neck to fall asleep - her nose is usually so smashed we wonder how she can breathe. If you try to move her face, she'll just snuggle back in!

Sled Carnage

Well for those of you who might have wondered what happens when you are snowmobiling and find a barely covered rock these pictures are for you. This happened a couple of weeks ago, but after a quick search on KSL Classifieds, a run to Mapleton, and about three hours of wrench time, we are back up and running.

So this is the part. See that bend, yeah, that is supposed to be straight. Not very fun. Great ride till that happened though.

A Tuesday Funny

I got this a while back in an email and just read it again and thought it was worth throwing up here to put a smile on someones face.

Mildred, the church gossip, and self-appointed monitor of the church's morals, kept sticking her nose in to other people's business. Several members did not approve of her extra curricular activities, but feared her enough to maintain their silence.
She made a mistake, however, when she accused George, a new member, of being an alcoholic after she saw his old pickup parked in front of the town's only bar one afternoon. She emphatically told George (and several others) that everyone seeing it there would know what he was doing.
George, a man of few words, stared at her for a moment and just turned and walked away. He didn't explain, defend, or deny... he said nothing.
Later that evening, George quietly parked his pickup in front of Mildred's house... walked home... and left it there all night.
You gotta love people like George.

Powder Addiction

So I took off again this morning, Saturday the 27th, to go ride up the Uintas. It was a short ride, but it was a good fix of powder. I know I have a problem, admitting it is the first step to recovery, but I don't want to recover. It is just too much fun. There are still some landmines out there. I came with in about 3 inches of hitting a metal "t-post". That would have been bad. As it was I saw a dude hit a rock and darn near superman it over his sled. We got him out and headed out. I also talked to a guy that had seen two avalanches so be careful out there. Thanks Dan, and sorry about your sled Trevor.
