On Saturday December 8th I had a chance to spend some quality time with the newest member of the family. I took the new sled our for a burn up the Mirror Lake Highway with five other friends. The snow conditions were okay. We did get into about 15-20 inches of powder on the road above Lost Lake. We broke trail from lost Lake over the pass below Bald Mountain to the High Line Trail. The riding was good for trail riding and gave me a chance to get used to the new sled. There were three in our group getting used to new sleds on this trip. We also took the chance to break-in the new rings and pistons on my friend Dan's sleds. All sleds ran well and I believe are as excited for the real riding to begin as we are as riders. As for the new sled, the power is nice and it floats and handles pretty well. It will take some getting used to. I'm looking forward to getting into the steep and deep. We were not able to get off the trail due to low snow conditions. The depth of the snow is still really scary. There is about 30 inches total at Trial Lake, we normally have about 4-5 feet this time of year. We are in bad need of more snow. This is a picture of a couple of the guys that who I was riding with. Trevor is next to his new machine on the left, Dan's sled in the middle, and Moe on his new ride on the right. When we have enough snow to get off the trail I promise better more exciting pictures. These pictures are taken just below Bald Mountain looking back up toward Bald Mountain. For those who have never been snowmobiling, it is a great way to see the beauty of the back country during a season that many neglect to venture into. It is breathtaking how beautiful everything is and how the scenery changes with snow. Pictures will never do it justice, but I plan to try and share a couple of the best picts from each ride throughout the season.

The new member of the family looks like a natural in the snow! Who would have thought!
